Having problems with Common Core?

While MEA members support the concept of Common Core State Standards (CCSS), many are finding it difficult to effectively implement it in their classrooms because of a lack of training or adequate resources. If you’re an MEA/NEA member, there is help.

MEA has established a cadre of teachers who are trained to provide the support you need. They are available for group or one-on-one trainings. To learn more or to arrange training, contact UniServ Consultant Melanie Waltz at mwaltz@mea.org.

Through your NEA membership, you have access to high-quality lesson plans that align with CCSS. More than 5,000 lesson plans developed by fellow NEA members have already been created and posted.

NEA has also created a Common Core Toolkit that provides information and resources on CCSS curriculum and instruction, professional development, assessment, English Language Learners and students with disabilities. You can download materials and find links and videos to help you.
