Health care bills up in House committee
The House Oversight, Reform, and Ethics Committee will continue its work this week on legislation dealing with public employee health care. The panel meets Tuesday to consider House Bills 4087 and 4572 and Senate Joint Resolution C.
House Bill 4572 would cap how much public employers could pay toward employee health insurance. House Bill 4087 would modify retirement health insurance benefits for legislators and the lieutenant governor. Senate Joint Resolution C previously passed the Senate along with Senate Bill 7, a bill to require public employees to pay at least 20 percent of the cost of their health insurance.
The House committee has previously taken testimony on Senate Bill 7, but that’s not on this week’s agenda.
