Keep up to date with legislative happenings with MEA's bill tracker

The 2013-14 legislative session is well underway, and the Legislature has introduced more than 20 bills affecting teachers, education support staff and students.

Things will continue to heat up this spring, as the Republican-dominated Legislature is expected to introduce half-baked "reform" proposals aimed at undermining public schools. Just yesterday, legislators introduced a plan to expand the so-called Education Achievement Authority.

MEA's team of government affairs specialists spend their days at the state Capitol, tracking legislation and making sure school employees' voices are heard by lawmakers.
