MEA is again partnering with Marquette-Alger RESA and Northern Michigan University for the 25th Annual Action in Education Summit 2014, on June 16-19 on NMU’s campus. The Institute, “Because Learning Matters,” offers more than 14 two-day classes related to professional development.

Participants can earn SCECHs or graduate credit from NMU by registering for classes in areas such as assessment, Common Core State Standards, technology, or flipped learning.

Each day will begin at 8:15 a.m. with a general session and keynote speaker; attendance is required. Mike Shoudy, MEA General Counsel, will be the keynote speaker on June 17 on the issue of “Hot Topics: A Legal Update.”

Classes meet from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day with an hour break for lunch at noon. Each two-day course is available for one University Credit Hour or 30 SCECHs. A combination of two, two-day courses earn two University Credit Hours or 60 SCECHs.

To register for graduate credit, go to www.nmu.edu/summer. The fee is $427 for one credit and $854 for two credits. To register for SCECHs, go to www.maresa.org. The cost is $75 for 30 hours and $150 for 60 SCECHs.
