WE ARE ONE
National Day of Action is April 4
The attacks on labor and the middle class won’t stop unless we take collective action and April 4 has been designated as a day for all of us to stand up for our rights.
Every union across the country will participate in a National Day of Action next Monday to commemorate the anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., who was killed while in Memphis organizing a demonstration for striking sanitation workers in 1968.
As a way to honor his support of labor, MEA has asked each local association to hold a 10-minute member meeting or local building meetings where members can commit time to contacting lawmakers via postcards, e-mails, or phone calls. If April 4 falls during your spring break, the event will happen during the week of April 11.
