See video clips of eight presidential candidates who addressed NEA RA
Eight of the candidates for president in 2008 attended the NEA Representative Assembly in Philadelphia last week to share their visions for America’s public schools.
While all of the candidates were invited to attend, seven Democrats and one Republican attended and addressed the delegates: U.S. Senators Joe Biden, (D-DE), Hillary Clinton, (D-NY), Chris Dodd, (D-CT), and Barack Obama, (D-IL), former Sen. John Edwards, (D-NC), Rep. Dennis Kucinich, (D-OH), Gov. Bill Richardson, (D-NM), and former Gov. Mike Huckabee (R-AR).
Watch video clips of the candidates or read their full remarks.
NEA has also prepared a guide to eight of the 2008 presidential primary candidates’ positions on NCLB/ESEA. The guide is based on the candidates' responses to an NEA questionnaire, interviews with NEA President Reg Weaver, and overall support of public education.
