Obama to address union workers after Detroit Labor Day Parade
The Detroit Labor Day Parade has always been a big event celebrating workers, but this year the parade takes on new importance with the announcement that President Barack Obama will speak to union workers at the end of the parade.
Obama will be joined by UAW President Bob King, Teamsters President James P.Hoffa, and SEIU President Mary Kay Henry. Other invited speakers include Metro Detroit AFL-CIO President Saunda L. Williams and AFSCME International Secretary-Treasurer Lee Saunders.
The theme for this year's parade is "Labor & Community; We Are One."
