Three new courses added to MEA's Online PD
MEA's Online Professional Development system has just added three new courses to the libraries it currently supports. The courses will continue to be offered for State Continuing Education Clock-Hours (formerly known as SBCEUs), as well as college credit through Central Michigan University.

The new courses focus on incorporating a balanced approach to classroom assessment, blending technology in a flipped classroom, and using specific criteria to evaluate a classroom's best practices. If you have an agreement with your employing district, the courses could satisfy the district-provided professional development requirements. The courses could also be used to renew a Professional Education teaching certificate.

MEA's Online Professional Development is another member benefit that gives all members the opportunity to take advantage of professional development opportunities. The free online courses are presented in a quick, easy-to-use, self-paced format through five learning libraries: new teacher, classroom instruction, education support personnel, general technology and school safety.

MEA, in collaboration with Instructional Technology Services, Inc., provides the "My Education Connection" portal. Access is available through www.mea.org in the "Members Only" area. Once you've logged in, click on "Professional Development" from the menu on the left of the screen and you're ready to get started.
