Support for bilingual classrooms available at MABE Institute
The 2014 Michigan Association for Bilingual Education (MABE) Institute will be held May 8-9 at the Dearborn Inn in Dearborn. This year’s Institute, “Literacy and Language in Action!” will explore bilingual education with programs and solutions geared to fit every classroom.
Tim Cusack, author of Me Too: Extraordinary Everyday Stories that Connect Us, will be the keynote speaker on Thursday. Kim Potowski, an Associate Professor of Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Illinois, Chicago, will address attendees on Friday.
Registration fees are $255 for the two-day Institute and $125 for one day. Hotel accommodations are available at the Dearborn Inn until April 16 for a discounted rate of $109.
MABE is a non-profit organization that encourages and promotes literacy and education in all languages in Michigan.
