Virtual town hall on panel's educator effectiveness recommendations to be held Aug. 21

The Michigan Council for Educator Effectiveness' recommendations for creating a statewide educator evaluation system will be the topic of a virtual town hall on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from noon-1 p.m. 

The MCEE's report identifies and recommends a tool to evaluate teachers; a tool to evaluate school administrators; new requirements for professional teaching certificates; and a waiver process for local educational agencies.

Panelists for the virtual town hall will include: MEA Vice President Nancy Strachan; MCEE Chair Deborah Loewenberg Ball, dean of the University of Michigan School of Education; and AFT-Michigan President David Hecker.
