Tuesday evening, MEA and AFT Michigan members will join together at Flashlight Vigils across the state to “Shine a Light” on the long-running 3% case. Learn more about (and RSVP for) the vigils happening around sunset on Tuesday, including one outside the Michigan Supreme Court in Lansing on the eve of oral arguments in the case.
Wednesday’s hearing will lead to a decision in the case that has kept more than $550 million of money illegally withheld from school employees in an escrow account for 7 years. (For more about the case, listen to the 3% teleforum MEA and AFT Michigan held last week or check out MEA’s Frequently Asked Questions on the case.)
As a show of school employee unity on the day of the Supreme Court hearing, MEA is asking members to Wear Red for Public Ed on Wednesday. On Wednesday, MEA’s officers will be present at the hearing, and you can watch the oral arguments live online via the Supreme Court’s livestream.
