The latest series of MEA’s SCECH-eligible webinars focuses on pedagogy and practice, featuring expert member-led sessions, along with offerings made possible by partnerships with state universities, the Michigan Department of Education (MDE), and other education organizations.
The “Practice Makes Perfect Progress” Webinar Series starts Sept. 9 with one-time sessions ranging from 90 minutes to two hours long continuing through mid-November. Find course descriptions and register here.
Topics range from core teaching practices to grammar teaching tips and resources; ideas for managing stress; ways to reduce student math anxiety; using HyperDocs; Creating editable worksheets in Google Drive Assignments; grading with rubrics in Schoology; partnering with parents; helping students with college applications; and more.
Over the past year, MEA’s Center for Leadership & Learning has registered more than 10,000 participant seats for live online professional learning events. The offerings appeal to all varieties of educators and education support professionals, according to MEA UniServ Consultant Chad Williams.
All MEA members in good standing can register and earn SCECH’s and certificates of completion for sessions in the fall series, which updates the old saying, “Practice makes perfect.”
“Progress is the key to resilience, to adaptation, to innovation. It’s the key that opens a door for us and our students no matter our zip code or background,” Williams said.
