Grants are available to help leaders in K-12 schools build healthier communities by bringing healthy eating and physical activity opportunities to schools and classrooms.
Building Healthy Communities is run by a coalition of health and research organizations, offering selected schools food programs (taste testing, industrial-size smoothie blending, food service funding and coaching), exercise equipment, and health curriculum.
Schools with grades K-5 can apply now for the elementary school program. Applications are due March 29. The middle school program applications are due April 7, and the K-12 Wellness Program applications will be due this summer.
