Robert Callender

Bob Callender became vice president of the Michigan Education Association on July 15, 2026, having previously served as president of the Warren Education Association since 2016. 

Bob has worked as a high school chemistry teacher with Warren Consolidated Schools in Macomb County, as well as serving in numerous leadership roles throughout his career. 

A career-long MEA member, Bob began serving as a building representative in his very first year of teaching. 

Bob holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Michigan–Flint, a master’s degree in the arts of teaching from Marygrove College, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and science education from Wayne State University.
