Plan now to attend upcoming March gun safety rally

MEA members across the state are speaking out about the need for the legislature to pass commonsense gun safety reforms immediately in the wake of the Stop School Shootings Now LogoOxford and MSU school shootings. There is an afternoon event coming up in March for you to add your voice to that call to action:
  • On Thursday, March 23 — the last session day before the Legislature’s spring break — March For Our Lives will hold a rally at the State Capitol starting at 4:30 p.m. This marks the fifth anniversary since the first rallies by this organization founded after the deadly school shooting in Parkland, Florida. For more information, RSVP now for the 23rd.
Aside from planning now to attend this event, please make sure to contact your legislator today and urge their support for gun safety bills being considered in the State House and Senate.  You can learn more about how to get involved in this work, including joining MEA’s Protect Our Schools Action Team and ordering an MEA gun safety advocacy t-shirt, at MEA.org/GunSafety.
