RSVP now for Labor Day events
Union members across the state are coming together to celebrate Labor Day on Monday, September 4th. From Detroit to Negaunee, the labor movement is stronger than ever. Bring your family and join your union family at these events MEA is formally participating in:
Detroit Labor Day March with President Madafferi and Vice President Smith:
MEA will march with our sisters and brothers from AFT Michigan. Staging begins at 8 a.m. at the corner of Porter and Trumbull in Detroit, with the march stepping off down Michigan Ave. at 9 a.m.
West Michigan Labor Fest with Secretary-Treasurer Eling:
Join KCEA and GREA at West Michigan Labor Fest from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Rosa Parks Circle in Grand Rapids! Be sure to check out the MEA booth for giveaways, and enjoy food trucks, kids games & activities, free live entertainment and more.
Muskegon Labor Day Parade and Celebration:
Parade starts at 11 a.m. on the corner of 4th and Western Ave., heads east to Jefferson Street, turns right onto Clay Ave. and ends at 4th Street. Afterwards, join the celebration in Hackley Park with barbeque, music, and family activities.
UP Labor Day Parade and Picnic:
Join the Marquette Alger Community Labor Council, AFL-CIO and the U.P. Regional Labor Federation for a Labor Day Parade and Picnic at Jim Thomas Pavilion and Jackson Mine Park in Negaunee! Parade starts at 11 a.m. with picnic, music and rally to follow from noon to 4 p.m.
Be sure to wear your favorite local or MEA union shirts and swag for all these great events!
