RSVP Now for Sept. 24 Education Budget Lobby Day

Plan now to join MEA and AFT Michigan for an education funding lobby day in Lansing next Wednesday, Sept. 24.

With the budget deadline looming, we need union members and supporters in Lansing to tell lawmakers to fund our schools, including critical programs like free school meals and mental health supports. Our students deserve to be Michigan’s top priority, with every available dollar supporting their success.

We’re planning two shifts on the 24th – the first from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (including training, lobbying and a press conference) and the second from 3-6 p.m. (with more training and an “afterschool” event for educators to be visible at the Capitol in support of our students).

RSVP now for one or both shifts to help pass the education budget our students and our colleagues need to succeed. To plan activities accordingly, we need to know how many people to expect, so please let us know if you can attend during the day or after school.

Have any questions or ideas? Email us at publicaffairs@mea.org.

If you haven’t already, take a moment to email your state lawmakers to pass a quality education budget for Michigan’s students right away.

But when she was invited, Madden went out of curiosity. “They wanted a paraeducator’s voice in the process. I wondered […]
