Add Your Voice to Legislative Priorities

One way you can get involved as an MEA member right now is by speaking up about the legislative priorities you believe our organization should be pursuing.

The MEA Legislation Commission is developing our organization’s 2021-23 Legislative Priorities for the 101st Michigan Legislative Session which begins in January. The Commission recommends priorities to the MEA Representative Assembly as adopted by the MEA Executive Board based on input from members.

You can access current MEA legislative priorities for reference. In addition to general input, this year MEA leaders hope to receive suggestions on legislation related to educational issues affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

To add your suggestions, you can complete the form online or download a copy to fill out and submit. Completed forms should be mailed to MEA Public Affairs, P.O. Box 2573, East Lansing, MI 48826-2573.

The deadline to input information is Dec. 31, 2020; however, we will consider all input that we receive prior to the Legislative Commission’s meetings to develop its recommendations. The Commission will finalize its recommendation by Feb. 28.
