Apply Now: Virtual Instructional Coaches Wanted
MEA is looking for exemplary educators interested in mentoring beginning teachers as part of an innovative new program launching this fall.
We are one of seven Midwest education associations partnering in an educator-led professional support program to help new teachers succeed in their work and stay in the profession.
The program, known as Educators Leading the Profession (ELP), will pilot in several Michigan districts with new teacher volunteers paired with Virtual Instructional Coaches for guidance on teaching methods and practices related to their subject matter.
ELP is actively seeking dedicated educators to join the pilot as Virtual Instructional Coaches to support New Teachers (in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year of teaching) across the Midwest. The program will use Danielson Group’s Framework for Teaching online curriculum, a series of modules made available to ELP participants.
Successful Virtual Instructional Coaches firmly believe that relationships built on trust, exceptional teacher practice, and equitable student learning should be at the center of new teacher mentoring and induction and are passionate about the instructional development of new teachers.
