Lions star dons student-designed cleats in win

The Detroit Lions won an overtime thriller against the New York Giants on Sunday, thanks in part to nine catches for 149 yards and a touchdown by star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Clearly, it must have been the shoes!

For Sunday’s game, St. Brown wore a special pair of student-designed cleats from East Jordan’s Shoe Club for the “My Cause My Cleats” game.

Through his St. Brown Foundation, Amon-Ra invited students from the Northern Michigan district to the Lion’s practice facility to meet him, discuss the importance of education and literacy, and design special cleats for him to wear.

Check out this great video from the Lions to hear more from St. Brown about why he made education the focal point of this partnership, as well as learning about the Shoe Club program – developed by award-winning MEA member Matt Hamilton.
